  Discovery Kiteboarder Program

The number of lessons you will want depends on what Skill Level you want to achieve before heading out to kiteboard on your own .

level 1,private 1 on 1 lesson 3 hours (1student$300  )

level 1, beginners Group lesson  3 hours( 2 students ) $250 per person 
this is for friends , family or any one who wants to bring another person along for a lesson .

we supply all equipment for teaching, kites,bars,harness,board,helmet and vest .
we do not supply wet suits or booties , this is for hygene reasons

Competence you will learn :
Carry and set up the lines and kite
Determine the wind direction and upwind and downwind (windward, leeward).
Fly a small kite (inflatable, stunt kite, foil…) on the wind window edge and maintain it close to the ground.
Know how to stop the kite power in case of problem by releasing the bar. Be aware that the kite leash must be worn at all times, before kite launching and until landing.

Be aware of the area where the kite can fall down wind to the pilot.
Recover the kite on land.
Position the kite on request from 9 to 3 o’clock on the wind window edge.
Launch a kite with an assistant and choose the right angle to the wind.
Fly the kite in the power area without crashing it.
Twist and untwist the lines while the kite flies.
Recover a kite and secure it on land.
Land a kite with the help of an assistant.
Fly a kite hooked to the harness.
Pilot hooked to the harness with one hand.
Activate the harness release system or quick release located on a leader line.
Perform a downwind course by body dragging and using the power of the kite.
Launch a kite alone on land.
Identify potential wind obstacles creating lift or down draft and be able to define the wind direction. Understand that practice with onshore wind is dangerous

A, Yes, a certified instructor can save you a lot of time,
frustration and possibly injury/damaged equipment in learning kiteboarding.

 

Q, can any body on the beach can teach me? (Friend or kiter)

A, no, unqualified person will put you on a kite without giving proper instruction which will lead to wasting time, struggling and eventually injury,

 

Q, do I have to buy or rent equipment before the lesson?

A, no, in fact a qualified instructor would not only recommend you do not buy equipment but the equipment should be included in the lesson price

 

Q, Are they certified instructors by a recognized training organization? IKO OR PASA

A, yes you need to ask, and ask for proof

 

Q, how long have they been professionally teaching kiteboarding?

A, it is good to know how long they have been teaching

 

Q, What are his lesson plan, anticipated skill progression and time requirements for you considering your related experience, physical condition and predicted wind/conditions?

A, a certified instructor always has a plan given by his organization,

 

Q, Is a primary goal training self-sufficient kiteboarders.

A, this is and should be the goal of all certified instructors

 

Q, Can he offer any discounts on purchase of kiteboarding gear?

Is he affiliated with the local kiteboarding association?

A, yes a certified instructor who is affiliated with and association can get u discounts on gear

 

Q, what kind of equipment should a certified instructor have for his/her student

A, helmet, floatation device, harness proper size, beginners kite, bar with all safety release

Board proper size,

 Cost is an important consideration but not THE most important
consideration. Proper effective instruction can save you a lot of time,
frustration and possibly injury/damaged equipment in learning kiteboarding. Quality instruction is a good thing. If you are interested in kiteboarding take the intelligent path and hookup with a Professional kiteboarding instructor for adequate, quality training.
